Area Description
The town of Sucina is located within the region of Murcia, of which a large part is virgin and solitary, a place that is renowned for it's culture, scenary and climate. Sucina is located within easy reach of local towns and cities. It is only 50 minutes from Alicante, 20 minutes from Cartagena and Murcia airport (at San Javier) and is just 7 km from the sandy beaches of the Mar Menor and 15 minutes from the Mediterranean Sea. It is a traditional town, far from the hustle of a tourist resort and located next to a special area designated for bird protection It also offers orchids, rivers, mountains, grapevines, olive groves and arid high plateaus. Thermal waters, rich artistic and historical heritage, are just a small sample of what this part of Spain offers to vistors and residents. The Mar Menor region of Spain is attributed by the World Health Organisation as the healthiest place to live in Europe! It has a micro climate all of its own. The Murcia region is also known as the garden of Spain with an annual average temperature of 21° as well as 315 days of sunshine each year. Within 15 miles, there are some of Spain's best golf courses including La Manga, Villa Martin and Campoamor. For the children "Water World" and other theme parks in Alicante and Benidorm are only 55 minutes drive away.
Transport
A car would be useful (see car hire page). Murcia airport at San Javier is just 20 minutes away and it is only 50 minutes to the large airport at Alicante. There is easy access by the excellent road and motorway networks to Cartegena, Murcia, Almeria, Benidorm and Torrevieja.
